Evaluation

Hello fellow internet users.

Within my evaluation I am going to be writing about my reflection on whole experience and how I found things when being a project manager for my own team when creating a corporate film for Oakdale Primary School .

When I was first assigned this unit each team was given team leaders so than each production would be managed and organised by one person within the Group. In my group I was position the team leader and had to keep control of tricky situations that had come forth when producing a corporate film. Once each team was decided we had our first team meeting so that we were able to just talk and think up some general ideas of how we could create the film. Within this meet I also assigned each member a different role for when writing the blog. My role was to keep in contact with our client and produce a proposal by working beside the brief that we were given of our client which was put in place with our first meeting with the headteacher of the school.

When it came to the production side of creating the corporate video for Oakdale Primary School I assigned each team member a job ole that best described them and would support their skills. My job when filming was Director, editor and co-camera operator working beside the main camera operator. The main camera operator was in charge of the visual look so they had also taken pictures of the interior and the exterior of the school so that we were then able to produce risk assessments and design a story board. The other team members role was to keep a recording of the interviews for back up use just in case the sound wasn't good on the cameras. Their role was also to be the interviewer and to help the children and teachers in the school to feel more comfortable.

When filming me and my team came across may obstetrical, for example on our first day of filming we found that there were not much equipment for the group to use as other teams were not working well with sharing the equipment out with other groups. This became very stressful as we had a member of the school walking around and at times felt as if I was letting our group down, but as a strong team leader I over came this problem by solving the situation. After that day of filming I then organised for me and my team member to joint their school for another day of films and had a conversation with our dispatcher so that when it came round to filming again we were able to gather more equipment and turn up to the school in a much more professional manner. As the pressure was on us the second time round when filming I felt that we did an excellent job at turning things around even though there were many disasters on the way we always pulled ourselves up and stood strong as a team and showed the school that they had received the right people for the production.

When it came round to editing the production I felt as if it was the hardest task that I was given as my client kept on hanging their mind on what they wanted the film to look like. As editing is my strong point within film this never put me down as I was at my most comfortable, I saw this as opening my eyes and finding new ways to accomplish a task to create the perfect production. I felt as if me and my group worked the hardest we could to develop a vision for our client even though we were never able to sign off our film because the client had caused us to run over our deadline from changing their mind several times.

In conclusion of this I would say that me group worked very well together as we all had different strengths and qualities this came to our favour helping us to produce a good film to show to our client even though then were not able to fully make their minds up on what they wanted their film to look like after many takes trying to create a vision for them and open their minds to a whole new world.

If I had a second chance at producing the corporate film again the things that I would change would be for me and my group to have been more prepared when it came to equipment and make sure that everyone was to share everything out equally before we went off filming. Other than this I would say that my expedience as a whole was excellent and I was able to work within a group with people that I have never worked with before, this would help me in the long run when it comes to producing another piece of work.
